Calmly I offer you
pieces of my heart,
tenderly chosen-
which you accept
with a smile
then toss away,
crumpled.
Just another piece
of unwanted garbage-
for which you spare
no thought.

Very Good Captivating Bitter.
Many years ago, someone asked why I “give things away.” I answered, that I give things to others because “I want them to have them.” I continued that I never gave because I wanted or expected a return [even] a thank you.
I BELIEVE that when one TRULY gives it is without expectation of return; in this, giving is selfless and genuine; it is unselfish. If one gives to receive then the gift is false/purposeful. Naturally, everyone holds different belief systems, but sometimes incorporating or learning to view things in other ways, one is afforded insulation/peace.
Captivating Bitter: when one gives heart/spirit/soul/self to another, though appreciation and equal returns could be and often are the desire; many times the other fails to feel to share to [even] care to surrender to reciprocate. If you surrendered but failed to receive then somehow learn to accept that others are not and may never be as mature and responsible or loving. This truth though hurtful and sad is truth still. That said, NEVER stop wanting caring or loving. NEVER permit the uncaring irresponsible and immature nature of others to tarnish to banish the beauty of your own.
Be Well
